    hi Vicki,

I love your blog and will be sure to buy your book. I started a blog a few months ago and would love to publish it into a book someday. Is your book a compilation of blog posts? Not sure how the bleep to go about this publishing thing.
You have a cute little boy, by the way. I have a Max too- he’s 16. Less cute but still lots of greasy fingerprints everywhere I look to remind me that even at 6 feet, he needs me. Ha ha
Good luck with your book sales. I live in Moncton, NB so if you have a book signing, I’ll be there.

Thanks, Colleen. My book is a combo of previous posts (refined and edited) and new content. Good luck with your blog (and future blook?)

Hey Vicki, just finished your book. Laughed through just about every page. Great reminder to not take ourselves too seriously. Cheers.

Hi Wanda! You should be able to find it at Chapters, Coles or Costco (although I am hearing they are sold out at some spots). You can also order online, but that seems to be taking a while (because they are flying off the shelves I guess?) The best place to order online, if you choose to do so, is probably from Breakwater Books.

Let me know when you find it!

I would LOVE to buy your book but I just can’t bring myself to pay more than the book price in international postage. Sorry for being cheap but do you think it might be available on kindle one day soon?

Just finished your book, Motherfumbler. Enjoyed each and every page. You are a unique writer. I’m sure He would have been very proud of your work. Chris also read and enjoyed it. We will be sending it out to Zabrina soon. Hope to see another one in print in the near future.

    Vicki,

Been reading your blog for a while. Just started reading the book a few days ago. Mom brought me up a signed copy from your Norton’s Cove event. It’s great.

Two weeks into parenthood. Hands smell like diapers and various spit-ups, having to change a diaper again within 5 seconds because he messed it, sleep deprivation comparable to military service, calming screaming baby. living as a 3rd priority. Enjoying watching his personality come out and being in awe of how fast he is growing. All in all I’m taking the good, bad, and messy in stride. I knew this wasn’t going to be sunshine and smooth sailing so I think that helps me balance.

Keep posting and maintaining the balance against the picture perfect parenting.

Looking forward to another book when I finish reading this one.

Hello darling I am close friends with your brother in law Chris over here in BC. He was just here today visiting myself and my lovely 8 month old daughter, Lauren. He told me it’s your birthday and I wanted to wish you a very Happy 26th and let you know that your book was given to me as a gift from Chris and my guy and I laughed out loud every night reading it out loud. It SAVED me these last 8 months after entering the world of motherhood for the first time. I often have told Chris that I wish you lived close by as I am sure we would be fast friends. Hope you enjoy all BC has to offer on your b-day :)))))) Thank you for being hilarious honest you!

I almost missed this message in the sea of SPAM that I get daily. So glad I didn’t! What a nice surprise. Thanks so much for the note. Chris always did give good gifts. 🙂 If you’re ever in NL, look me up so we can hang like boobs after breastfeeding.

    Vicki,

Your book is hilariously terrifying – I mean that as a compliment!! Your writing style, sense of humour and the realness you bring to the concept of childbirth, motherhood and relationships is so unique and I love it.

My mom brought me a copy of the book on a recent trip to Calgary. I assume she was drawn to it when she saw the high heel on the cover and the title, and thought ‘perfect book for my potty-mouthed career-obsessed prego offspring.’ She was right, so for once I don’t regret unloading into an f-bomb laced tirade about my stressful albeit rewarding job to my mother. As a result, she gets me and I get to read your book, a win win.

Your stories helped me realize a few things; on a stressful day at work, never say “god I can’t wait for mat leave” because when I realize what it is actually like I will eat my words, but also that despite the fact that motherhood is daunting and crazy and rage-inducing, it is ultimately rewarding and totally worth it.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience in a real way, I’m looking forward to following your blog!

    Stephanie

Hey cousin. Boy have you got the family talking! Everybody is so proud of you, but many aren’t sure what to do with the C word. I love it! It’s much too under used. You go girl. The book is great! By the way, can you loan me some of your book earnings so I can pay some one to write my novel?

Hey there sweet elder cousin. By C word I assume you mean Cookies. We really do need more cookies. I’d loan you some of my book earnings but I’m afraid there’s not much to go around. Thank god I didn’t do it for the money. Wait a second, I DID do it for the money. Hmmm. I quit! Get that book written ya frigger.

    Vicki,
I just finished “Motherfumbler” and I have to say that it was FABULOUS. Cover to cover, I enjoyed every part of it. Also, thank you for writing the truth ( I have 2 boys; a 2 year old and a 6 month old, I feel your pain – literally…lol).
Thank you and congratulations!!! ( I had to order my copy online as all bookstores located near me were sold out…woot woot)
